Description
Rakomelo or raki with honey, is a favorite drink of the Cretans produced by the association of raki with Cretan honey, various aromatic herbs and cinnamon. Rakomelo has a wonderful sweet taste and is usually enjoyed on cold nights during the winter. It is used against colds and flu as it relieves the symptoms of cough and sore throat.
Preparation:
Heat a low heat 100ml tsikoudia with 1 cinnamon stick and 3-4 cloves. Once warm, add the honey. Leave the rakomelo for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon. Remove from the heat and remove the cinnamon and cloves.
